What about a balcony that barely gets any sunlight? I have a second floor
balcony with a screen and storm shutters (zone 10 Florida). I rarely use
the balcony I was thinking of growing plants / food in there. Are the any
type of growing light bulbs/ fixtures that would be ok to use on a balcony
(to be able function after potential rain might touch it and being in high
humidity? I doubt it , just thought I would ask.
You guys remind me of Sindy and I when we were dating. I just loved to do
things for her, and get her growing vegetables right. It is so sweet, and
makes me smile from ear to ear to see
I like the earth box a little better than the other one. tried both. but
bought the earth box as a holiday gift for someone & she loves it.
What’s/where’s Bluth’s original frozen banana? (is that what that says?)
I get my frozen bananas from a local fruit bars & sorbets place Guanat’s.
u 2 are cute together. happy ur happy.
Good luck with your garden, Lauren! What a lovely video, thank you, John
for posting. I am so happy for both of you! Like someone already said – get
married and make a few adorable kids!
Any chance of an update on how the balcony garden is getting on please?
Any more tips for balcony growing would be great. For example, I have
learned that nasturtiums are great for adding extra nutrients in something
like an upsidedown planter, because they don’t mind sharing a small space
with something like tomatoes. I’ve also built my own variation on an earth
box, and have managed to get quite a lot growing well in that. Any more
ideas on how to get more food out of a small balcony would be really
helpful!
Hi John, a few years back I planted tomatoes on my patio and worms and bugs
got them, but I live on the second level, what can I do to keep the insects
away.
You had me at “casters” ! There were so many great ideas in this video. I
would add . . . wear a mask when combining the components of the growing
mixture. You guys are a great inspiration.
hey john ive been watching you off and on for awhile now and im finally
starting an apartment garden my back patio doesent get alot of sun i wonder
if you could give me your 5 most nutrient packed veggies that do good in
about 70 % shade???
Great episode, love birds. It’s nice see people promoting container
gardening. I am a huge fan of container gardening myself. I am renter, but
I wanted to enjoy fruit trees, and obviously I didn’t want to plant them in
the ground because I would lose the trees when I move. I started buying
trees a little over a year ago and now I’m up to 13 potted trees. And they
produce really well! I bet your girlfriend could fit a couple dwarf trees
in the corners on that patio. :)
I used to live in an apartment with a similar balcony but it had full sun
and was often windy enough to knock over pots. You might want to consider
attaching clear panels, assuming your landlord doesn’t have a problem with
it, to the inside of the railing. I made some out of a thick clear shower
curtains and tied them tightly to the posts and used bricks to keep them
down to the floor.
Just equally like my balcony. Thank you beautiful couple for very good,
practical lesson.
I hope Lauren will have soon wonderful, healthy vegetables.
Greetings for you both.
DO NOT USE PETE BASED COMPOSED!!!! IT IS DESTROYING HABITATS

Love your videos on your channels, just wondering where you found the city
pickers grow box in Texas? Thanks for any info you can share.
