Katherine, do you answer people’s questions and comments? Why would you
plant 4 varieties of beans instead of more variety in your vegetables. I
get lots of lettuces/salad stuff, lots of herbs, and lots of beans from
your video. Don’t understand that choice.
Why would plant anything in a plastic bag with no holes? Your garden is
going to be terribly water logged once it rains!
Also, silverbeet (or chard) can getting bloody huge. Spinach might actually
be a better option in such a small garden, just grow it in a shady spot
(like behind the beans) to stop it from bolting (e.g. flowering).
Good ideas though and I like the variety you use!
Also, it seems that all UK and Canadian videos on garden talk about
“compost” and do not distinguish between all compost, as Katherine claims,
which would lead to weaker plants–and a composted mixture, which would be
more advantageous. This video has been bugging me ever since I saw it a
couple of weeks ago.
This is way too crowded, I won’t recommend it at all. It looks pretty now
but results will be very poor in such sort of method that she used. Veggies
need space to grow.
thanks for the lovely video. I have two questions:
1. is the you used 100% compost, or is it mosly dirt which is composted?
can’t a high percent of compost “burn” the roots?
2. what is the importance of the plastic bag? is it only to shape the
garden bed?
Love the trellis idea! I would keep my tags from the pots and place near
the plants. Helps me remember what they are so those I like I can
recommend or plant more next year! Thanks!
I used some weed barrier fabric and sewed my own planter bags for this
season, but haven’t planted anything in them yet. Maybe a good project for
today. :)
Hello Catherine
Your mini raised bed looks a little overcrowded to me and the cat
has certainly got its eye on it and not for picking vegetables. I have just
had some good results growing leeks, carrots, dwarf beans, potatoes etc in
pots on my patio. Link attached if anybody’s interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TK–IyeT8JQ

At end I thought she is going to plant some apple trees in between.

why waste money when you can plant them on the ground
when you make your salads, wh type dressing do you use ?
I’m diabetic & can’t have dressings don’t like the others.
Any suggestions ???
Where is she from? I love her accent!
And when those plants actually grow? It’ll be like a Vietnamese traffic jam
in there.

As An avid gardner . This garden space is tiny and she is lutting too many
