Also paper towel rolls tubes just cut them to your desire length then cut 4
panels at the bottoms and flood them like you would a box . Bang ! You got
mini seed starting pots and then you can plant the seedling with the paper
pots it the bigger pot because paper is biodegradable.

I was lucky to find a multi-purpose compost that is ideal for seed sowing,
general potting and soil conditioning, it is not a top brand either so
doesnt cost a fortune. Yoghurt pots are used in my house for larger seeds-
    works for me :)
    Good vid!!!

  4. Rose Roy says:

    Grow your garden flowers!

  5. couldnt you grow them in a window and turn them round every few days to
    even it out ?

  6. is it the same one’s (cowpots) as in the tv show dirty job?

  7. dellasmom says:

thanx everso for the advice on the light issue, it really is overwhelming
how many choices there are out there. BTW, if that water is straight from
your tap, your next video could be an adventure in plumming problems and
how to speak to a hardware store person so that they know what you are
asking for the first time you ask them….

  8. snnnoopy says:

I have never been successful planting from seed. No one would know how bad
I am by looking at my yard, but it’s true. I fail miserably every time.

  9. MegaKbyrne says:

Every one else says in grow light bulbs go 5000 kelvins and 2600 luminens.
    I have
four from lowels home improvement at $9.00 for a two pack. Necessary? your
    thoughts Eric

  10. Tim Huffman says:

Great video Eric .. Thank you for sharing.. I follow your same technique
when I start my seeds.. hope you have a great day

  11. Flowerhen says:

That is the best advice……turn off the TV and do something useful! …TV
is full of Honey Boo Boos!! Uuugh.

  12. I’ve been working on seed starting some herbs. I keep killing them off one
way or another: too little water, too much water, too little light. But
that’s okay, I just keep replanting and trying again. I’ll eventually get
    the hang of it. :)

  13. Joe Septa says:

    As always very informative

  14. Isa Bo says:

Every time I eat greeck Yoghurt (twice a day) I wash the plastic cup and
use that for seedstarting. Works great and it’s free and I re-use the
plastic. I have tried paper but the bottom falls out when I water them.

  15. Hey Eric and T.C.O. Another great video with a lot of good information and
as always love the interaction with TCO. Loved your “I was hoping you
wouldent point that out” totally funny!!
    Keep the info and updates growing our way :-{}

I heard that vermiculite is carcinogenic. Is that true?

  17. ridert08 says:

    Gnats are extra protein haha

  18. kokohawk says:

I planted from seeds my first year but every year since I’ve slacked and
not started early enough. I figure if I don’t start by the first week in
April it will be too late so I just give up on planting seeds and instead
buy the seedlings from the local hardware store. When do you start your
    seeds? (I’m in MN)

  19. Thanks for a really informative video, some useful information, especially
the swishing of the seedlings to get them used to the wind.

I’m off to learn more about cowpots now, a great idea.

Best wishes from the UK, Kay

  20. Linda Penney says:

The only thing I would say is turn your pots round each day then the plant
will stretch towards the window and the light
